Erica Wolf, Maui Calleja and Kaitlyn Kruse were chosen by Rotary to attend the World Affairs Seminar At Carroll University in Waukesha, WI in June.

The World Affairs Seminar has been preparing young people to deal with global problems and issues for more than thirty years.

Key features of the 2011 World Affairs Seminar included explore cutting – edge topics in the areas of emerging economic and technological development in sustainable systems, global security and human rights, conservation efforts and service learning projects. They heard about current trends and discussed their importance. They also learned which institutions are engaged in the conversation on global sustainable development.

“It was an awesome experience” the girls said.  “We met so many people from different places and learned alot about global and environmental issues.”   The World Affairs Seminar is the vision of Rotarian Dr. Dale Brock, whose vision was to bring about better understanding of world problems within a select group of young people from around the world.
