Hats off to the Morrison Rotary Club for another record setting year. Over 600 athletes participated in the Duathlon, 5k and/or the Color Run. The weather was perfect, the volunteers turned out in force, and the athletes responded in mass. We also want to thank our partners, the Morrison High School Key club, the Morrison High School Pom Squad for helping throw color for the color run, Don Beswick, race day announcer; Sterling Rock Falls Amateur Radio Society, who provides radio communications; Cottonwood 4H Club, for the water stop, City, County, and State Police, for traffic control; Lion’s Club, Friends of the Park, MIT students, Mt. Carroll Rotarians, Morrison Rotarians and spouses, and all the Morrison teachers and community volunteers. Over 100 volunteers are needed to make this event a success! We also want to thank our community sponsors and for those companies who provided food and drink for the athletes.
Pictured here is Rotarian Dr. Yacklich directing our color runners at the end of their run. Well done!
